University of Skövde

The University of Skövde (HIS) is a small and modern university that offers first-class programs and com-petitive research, attracting research scientists and students all over the world. Since the end of 2006, the Uni-versity has strategically been focusing its research resources to a few internationally competitive research centres whereof the Systems Biology Research Centre (SBRC) is one. At present, the SBRC consists of a total of 45 researchers, including 5 professors, 8 associate professors, 15 assistant professors, and 12 PhD students. The SBRC is organized into six research groups: i) Bioinformatics, ii) Ecological modeling, iii) Infection biology, iv) Physiology, pharmacology and toxicology, v) Tumor biology, and vi) Consciousness and cognitive neuroscience. Last year, the SBRC was evaluated by its Assessment of Research and Collabo-ration (ARC13). The result of this evaluation showed that the centre performs excellent co-production with the industry/hospitals and do research with excellent impact.
